Wieland is hiring a Tax Accountant. The Tax Accountant is to perform indirect and direct tax compliance projects, and work closely with the Senior Tax Analyst, Tax Manager, as well as a team of internal professionals and external tax service providers. This role requires a hands-on supporting role for the indirect tax and unclaimed property requirements. The ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys an excellent work environment and the challenge to learn and advance your career. The role will reside in the Wieland North American headquarters in Louisville, KY, and can include a hybrid schedule.

Tax Accountant Responsibilities:

Indirect Taxes
• Support the processing of data used to complete the required Sales & Use Tax filings throughout North America.
• Work with external tax service providers to ensure the timely filing of various tax filings as well as prepare some filings internally (e.g. franchise, capital, property tax, excise, etc.)
• Work with the legal department to ensure the accuracy of information required for business registrations and annual reports.
• Unclaimed Property
  • Manage the data collection activity for Unclaimed Property compliance filings annually.
  • Work closely with various departments to ensure data and process compliance with local regulations.
  • Automate and standardize the process where applicable.
  • Process/File the applicable Unclaimed Property reports.
• Tax Notices and other Tax Duties
  • Manage all tax department notices.
  • Assist the team in the income tax compliance.

Tax Analyst Qualifications:

• 2-4 years' experience in tax preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Hands-on, self-motivated individual with the ability and desire to create new or improve existing processes and documentation.
• Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Excel and Word. SAP and Oracle experience are nice to have.
• Desire to work in a dynamic and growing environment.
