Summary:

In this role, the Senior Product Owner is a versatile professional who blends strategic product leadership with strong business analysis expertise. In this role, you will define and prioritize product features, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure alignment between business needs and technical delivery. You will champion agile best practices, promote cross-functional collaboration, and drive data-informed decision making to support high-quality product outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prioritize product work, including iteration objectives, themes, epics, and features, ensuring alignment with business goals and release plans.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement through sprint reviews, progress updates, and cross-team communication to maintain alignment and transparency.
  • Provide day-to-day direction for the delivery team, maintain team agreements, and support onboarding frameworks for new team members.
  • Gather, clarify, and document requirements to guide development efforts with expertise in business processes, applications, and data.
  • Lead agile ceremonies including planning, refinement, retrospectives, and daily standups; manage ADO sprint setup, capacity planning, and team reporting.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing, perform impact analysis, triage defects, and provide final approval on completed user stories and features.
  • Track and interpret performance metrics to guide decision making; develop and distribute internal release notes and dashboards.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, utilizing personas and user journeys to translate needs clearly between business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Maintain a healthy product backlog, create and refine user stories, and manage orphan or aging items to support continuous delivery.
  • Define and promote best practices for product ownership and business analysis; create, maintain, and share ADO queries, dashboards, and process documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 5 or more years of experience serving as a Product Owner or Senior Product Owner in an enterprise agile environment.
  • Proven experience working in agile environments with tools such as Azure DevOps and Jira.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex processes and support collaborative, cross-functional work.
  • Experience developing personas, interpreting dashboards/metrics, and facilitating agile ceremonies.
  • Excellent writing skills for documentation, requirements, and release notes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • 5 or more years of experience translating business needs into product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria within an enterprise environment.
  • 5 or more years of experience leading agile ceremonies and managing product backlogs using Azure DevOps, Jira, or comparable tools.
  • 5 or more years of experience partnering with cross-functional teams-including engineering, design, QA, and business stakeholders-to ensure successful delivery of features and enhancements.
  • Experience conducting user acceptance testing, performing impact analysis, and validating production readiness for new features.
  • Experience developing and maintaining product documentation, dashboards, release notes, or performance reports.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
