Overview

Bonus Options: Up to a $20,000

Shifts Available: Nights-(17% to 22% differential in pay)

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours: 12-hr options - Self Schedule (7pm to 7am)

Location: St Joseph Medical Center - Kansas City, MO

We are seeking a Cardiac Care Registered Nurse, also referred to as our Cardiac Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) or CCU RN.

The CCU Registered Nurse provides specialized care for patients with complex cardiac conditions in a high-acuity environment.
This RN role requires strong critical thinking skills, advanced cardiac monitoring expertise, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient status.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but are not limited to):

  • Deliver direct patient care in the Cardiac Care Unit, including assessments, medication administration, and documentation.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to arrhythmias and emergencies promptly.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment (e.g., ventilators, central lines, cardiac monitors).
  • Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.


Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  • Current and valid state RN license.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Basic arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintained.
  • Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • Ventilator management experience preferred.
  • Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
