Market Research Specialist

Job duties: Study market conditions, analyze marketing data, and optimize marketing workflow. Specifically,

· Study market conditions of the company’s products and services to identify market trends, pricing, business challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

· Define marketing data requirements based on the company’s business feature, market characteristics, and operational goals. Design and conduct quantitative research to collect vast quantities of data from multiple data sources, and organize and validate data for further analysis

· Use data mining methodologies to analyze data on customers, including demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits to identify potential markets and factors affecting the demand of the company’s products, measure and assess customer satisfaction, and identify the new characteristics requirements for the company’s products.

· Use data mining methodologies to analyze data on competitors, including products, services, prices, sales, and methods of marketing and distribution to assess the competitive landscape, identify the company’s strengths and weaknesses, discover potential opportunities, and benchmark the company’s performance.

· Utilize mathematical optimization to optimize the company’s marketing workflow through the combination of the data analysis and data-driven insights, aiming to reduce the lead time, minimize the defects, and improve the flow.

· Prepare reports of market research findings, turning data into information and insights. Illustrate data graphically and translate complex findings into written text for review of management and make presentations.

Job Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in any disciplines.

· The courses of study must include:

(1) Data mining related course such as Applied Data Mining or Mining Large  Datasets.

(2) Mathematical optimization related course such as Modern Mathematical Optimization or Optimization Models and Applications.

(3) The course of study could be satisfied by transcript showing the registration of the courses.
