Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the team. This position Full-time (40 hrs/ week) Monday to Friday working 3 early days and 2 late days until 6:30. Ideal candidate will communicate effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts. Must be able to demonstrate essential skill in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Job Responsibilities:

• The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant adheres to department policy regarding the timeframe, appropriate form, and content of written rehabilitation documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts.
• Completes all administrative and other responsibilities in support of the operating unit.
• Demonstrates essential skill in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Associates degree from accredited certified occupational therapy assistant program.
• Experience: Graduate of approved certified occupational therapy assistant program, new graduate of certified occupational therapy assistant program.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association required upon start.
• Licensure: VA Occupational Therapist Assistant Licensed required upon start.
