The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

To perform a variety of secretarial duties for the Inpatient Rehab Adolescent unit.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma
  • One year of general office experience

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of related medical terminology
  • Hospital experience

Scheduling Requirements:

  • FT Day

Essential Functions:

  • Transcribe dictation, type correspondence, memos, reports, minutes, etc,
  • Proof typed materials, make corrections and recommend changes
  • Copy and or fax as necessary
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail; open, sort and prioritize
  • Answer routine inquires
  • Facilitates scheduling of inpatients to outside referring facilities and inpatient Ambulatory Care
  • Assist in setting up office systems
  • Maintain files and established departmental and hospital policies and procedures
  • Order and maintain supplies and equipment
  • Formal Education and Job-Related Experience
  • One to three years general clerical experience
  • Hospital experience preferred
  • A knowledge of related medical terminology is preferred
  • Experience with various computer word processing software packages
  • Accuracy and speed in typing
  • Knowledge of rules of spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Tact and courtesy in dealing with others
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality information
