ROLE SUMMARY:

We are building Observability and Event Intelligence as an internal product for engineering teams across LSEG. This role focuses on operating, improving, and scaling our platforms, ensuring teams can reliably onboard, adopt best practices, and run healthier services.

You will own the configuration, governance, integrations, and lifecycle of our observability platforms and serves as a partner and enabler to developers, engineers, and operations teams.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys running platforms at scale, defining standards, enabling others, and driving adoption across a global enterprise. It is a platform operations and enablement role -- not DevOps application delivery, production SRE, CI/CD or microservices engineering, nor full-time software development.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Own platform governance, reliability, standards, and guardrails

  • Manage identity, access, roles, and tenancy models

  • Operate onboarding/offboarding and self-service capabilities

  • Coordinate platform upgrades, feature rollout, and lifecycle changes

  • Integrate with ITSM workflows (change, incident, problem)

  • Partner with vendor engineers and internal teams on complex issues

  • Drive adoption, hygiene, and cost optimization across business units

  • Provide L3 expertise and advanced troubleshooting for platform services

  • Document SOPs, standards, and best practices for scale and support

  • Monitor platform health, usage patterns, and consumption trends

  • Automate repeatable provisioning and integrations (APIs, Terraform, scripts) as needed

Nice to Have

  • Evaluate new observability capabilities and support proof-of-concepts

  • Contribute to roadmap, maturity goals, and platform strategy

What Success Looks Like
  • Faster, frictionless onboarding for application teams

  • Increased adoption and consistent use of standards

  • Reduced alert noise and duplicate configurations

  • Stable, well-governed, well-supported platforms

  • Improved cost efficiency and license utilization

  • Clear processes, documentation, and ownership models

What You'll Bring
  • Experience administering or operating observability platforms (Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, BigPanda, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of monitoring, alerting, metrics, logs, and event routing

  • Familiarity with Azure or other cloud environments

  • Working knowledge of ITSM/ITIL and operational workflows

  • Experience integrating tools and platforms via APIs or automation

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Terraform or Python for automation

  • ServiceNow development experience (Service Catalog, Flow Designer/Workflows, custom applications, and third-party integrations)

Why Join Us
  • Influence observability maturity across a global enterprise

  • Own and shape platforms used by hundreds of teams

  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, cloud, and operations groups

  • Drive meaningful improvements in reliability, stability, and insight
