Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Innovation Portfolio Management. The Director, Innovation Portfolio Management will serve as the principal for the advancement of Astrion's portfolio of Solutions and Offerings. This Innovation team member will ensure that all Solutions and Offerings develop in a manner strategically aligned to Astrion's Growth objectives, product strategies, and overall innovation roadmap. The role is pivotal to transforming strategy into execution, bridging technical discovery, solution definition, and operationalization to realize measurable business value.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA or relevant master's) strongly preferred.
• Degrees in engineering, business, or a related field will be favorably considered.
• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, business analysis, AI/ML specialization) are a plus.
• Track record leading cross-functional, high-growth solution and product portfolios, ideally in government contracting, technology, or innovation-intensive sectors.
• Experience architecting and operationalizing systems, processes, and scalable frameworks for solution maturity, portfolio management, and business impact.
• Demonstrated success managing complex stakeholder relationships, from technical teams and marketing to clients and executive leadership.
• Familiarity with leveraging AI/ML, knowledge management systems, and workflow automation to accelerate decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Skilled in the development and communication of go-to-market strategies, business cases, and data-driven ROI frameworks.
• Exceptional analytical, facilitation, storytelling, and leadership abilities; comfortable in both strategic planning and hands-on execution modes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Portfolio Strategy & Solution Maturity
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, real-time portfolio view of Astrion's Solutions and Offerings, ensuring strategic alignment across the enterprise.
  • Work with the Discovery and Estimation Team to intake, validate, and scope technical requirements for new and evolving opportunities.
  • Facilitate go/no-go and prioritization decisions in partnership with the VP for Innovation, incorporating company and product strategies, cost-benefit analyses, and customer value considerations.
  • Create, refine, and enforce portfolio management frameworks that guide the maturation of offerings from concept through execution and deployment, establishing roadmaps, metrics, and governance mechanisms.
• Implementation, Processes, and Roadmaps
  • Lead the development of implementation plans, workflow processes, and scalable operational playbooks for every solution and offering in the portfolio.
  • Drive the update and compliance of systems engineering documentation for solutions, ensuring cross-functional buy-in and consistent adoption of best practices.
  • Oversee the creation of clear, actionable roadmaps for each offering, highlighting growth milestones, investments, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Pipeline & ROI Mapping
  • Map all solutions and offerings to Astrion's growth pipeline, ensuring connectivity to customer opportunities and ROI measurement at the project and portfolio level.
  • Establish and monitor metrics to evaluate the performance and value creation of each solution, connecting investment to business outcomes.
• Knowledge Management & AI Enablement
  • Ensure information flow into the Capabilities Knowledge Base, supporting enterprise-wide visibility and knowledge reuse.
  • Innovate with AI/ML tools and frameworks to optimize portfolio management, workflow automation, and performance analytics.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Storytelling
  • Collaborate with prototyping and marketing/communications teams to develop compelling internal and external narratives for each solution, using written, multimedia, and demonstration formats to drive adoption and support.
  • Act as a nexus point for cross-organizational alignment, coordinating input and resources from growth, solution architecture, business development, and delivery teams.
