The Institute's goal is to optimize the health and aging of individuals, communities, and society through research, education and public service in the social and behavioral sciences. Reporting to the Dean of the School of Nursing, the Director serves as a campus leader in the oversight of this organized research unit. As a member of the Dean's leadership team, the Director works collaboratively with members of the School Dean's Council to oversee the administration and daily functioning of this defined unit within the SON. In this role, the Director is responsible for providing leadership for hiring and development of Institute faculty; support of research programs; evaluation of faculty and staff; and collaborations with campus scientists to advance the thematic interests of the Institute. The role is dynamic and advances the mission of the Institute, in association with School and Campus. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Associate or Full professor in the Ladder rank (tenure track) series depending on qualifications. Position Responsibilities Include:

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $127,100 - $319,800.
