Responsibilities

Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers hope and healing for youth ages 7 to 17 at the time of admission with several psychiatric diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities. Located in Portsmouth, VA, Harbor Point provides intensive, residential treatment to youth in a comfortable setting that is conducive to healing. Our facility specializes in treating children and adolescents with depression, bipolar, ADHD, and other mental health issues. We also have specific treatment programs for those with intellectual disabilities or those with self-injurious behavior. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE-approved and certified facility.

We are currently hiring for a Full Time HR Coordinator to join our Human Resources Team.

Position Summary:

Performs daily process related responsibilities in support of transactions in various areas, including but not limited to, recruitment, employment, benefits, performance appraisal, worker's compensation, staff development, reward and recognition, and resignation/termination. Performs consistently in compliance with all internal standards, policies and procedures, state, federal and licensing requirements as well as standards of accreditation.

Job Duties (not an inclusive list):

  • Maintains correspondence, forms, listings, files, reports, and personnel records.
  • Creates and accurately maintains employee files.
  • Contributes to the quality daily operations of the HR department by ensuring all documents are organized and filed in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Participates in routine and special file audits and data entry projects. Ensures ongoing compliance.
  • Performs typing, word processing, spreadsheet, and data base work.
  • Compiles and prepares forms, reports, and projects.
  • Assist with screening, recruiting, and interviewing potential employees.
  • On-boards and trains new employees.
  • Implement company culture, values and policies.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum three to five years of Human Resources experience in a fast-paced, dynamic department or service. Education in human resources or management can substitute for experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with a diverse employee population and all levels of management
