BEHAVIORAL HEALTH DIRECTOR CLINICAL- Richmond, IN

Horizon Health Corporation is seeking a Behavioral Health Director Clinical to work on the inpatient psychiatric units (4-bed Psych & Substance Abuse Detoxification Unit) in Richmond, IN. The Behavioral Health Director is responsible for the maintenance of the Horizon Health/Client hospital contractual relationship(s) and in coordination with the client, the overall administration of patient care for the Program. He/she plans, implements and evaluates delivery of overall nursing care to patients. He/she provides managerial support by providing supervision and evaluation of all nursing personnel for the Program. Included in these responsibilities are: 1) the development and maintenance of a high-quality treatment program; 2) the development and implementation of a comprehensive community relations program; 3) strategic planning, program administration, and development; and 4) He/she contributes to the program nursing and hospital through commitment to nursing goals and the supervision of clinical staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs as liaison between Program, Hospital and Horizon; communicating information and needs appropriately
  • Supports Hospital and Horizon missions, goals and objectives
  • Provides leadership and direction in accordance with Hospital guidelines and consistent with nursing and Program philosophies
  • Provides clinical supervision for Program nursing, counseling, patient support and administrative staff
  • Develops, in coordination with assigned VP, Clinical Practice, implements and updates all policies and procedures for the Program
  • In coordination with the Hospital, ensures the Program meets and maintains all federal, state, local and accrediting bodies' regulations and standards
  • Defines the philosophy, goals and objectives of the treatment program under the direction of hospital administration, Horizon's clinical and operations staff and in conjunction with the Medical Director
  • Works with divisional and national support staff to ensure that the client hospital realizes maximum value from Horizon services
  • Directs departmental staff involved in multidisciplinary teams to address process improvements involving patients, employees, other customers or teams appropriately
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree required
  • Active RN license or LCSW in state of IN required
  • CPR Certification required
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in healthcare leadership
  • Experience in acute care mental health setting required
