Metra is one of the largest and most complex commuter rail systems in North America, serving Cook, DuPage, Will, Lake, Kane, and McHenry Counties. The agency is linking communities in Northeastern Illinois by providing safe, reliable, and efficient commuter service. The Operations Training Department is responsible for job skills training for employees in the Mechanical and Engineering departments. Reporting to the Senior Division Director, Operations Learning and Development, the Administrative Secretary plays a key role in keeping our training programs running smoothly and efficiently. This role assists with maintaining employee certification, qualification, and apprentice/student information and records. The Administrative Secretary also assists with the preparation of training materials to required standards. The Administrative Secretary will also assist with updating and monitoring the department's KPI dashboard to ensure timely and accurate performance reporting. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of weekly and monthly summary reports, assists with coordinating responses for training material and information requests in a timely and organized manner, and supporting departmental initiatives as needed.
