Job Title: CDZ Customs Regulatory Instructional Trainer Job Location: Laredo, Texas DHL Global Forwarding manages the flow of goods and information across a customer's global supply chain utilizing air/ocean/ground transportation, customs brokerage services, and dedicated warehousing/distribution centers. Key Responsibilities:
- Development of training courses and/or job aids to support CHB related positions; ability to develop simple, easy-to-understand, user friendly content.
- Responsible for course improvements, upgrades, and other special projects as assigned.
- Lead on going classroom training on multiple shifts in a manner to engage all participants in building the skills necessary to achieve training objectives.
- Conduct one-on-one training on multiple shifts as necessary to validate, improve or correct user skills to achieve overall quality objectives.
- Establish course schedules, registration, confirmations and coordination off shift training.
- Responsible for planning and delivering multiple variations of Customs House Brokerage and Customs Management (or other Brokerage Systems) course topics.
- Accountable to deliver training to all roles throughout the CHB Product.
- Responsible to ensure training is compliant with all CBP, PGA, customer and DGF regulations, policy, procedures, rules and standards and obtain periodic validation that training remains up to date.
- Develop relationships and support Subject Matter Experts (SME's) during content design and development.
What We're Looking For:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Visio, Publisher, or training software (e.g., TechSmith) a plus.
- Skilled in SharePoint navigation and site maintenance.
- Strong technical writing skills for creating training documents and materials.
- Knowledge of Customs Management or other brokerage systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to design, develop, and deliver training programs
- Knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations (19 CFR) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule preferred.
- Flexible and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment.
- Innovative and willing to learn new systems, processes, and trainer techniques; committed to self-development.
- Leads by example, demonstrates professionalism, and can handle conflict resolution.
- Ability to accurately estimate project timelines and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%).
- Professional certification (e.g., First Choice Bronze) preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Enthusiastic, engaging, and self-motivated.
