Pay: $72800 - $93600 / year (paid hourly)

Schedule: M - F; day shift (on-call approximately 1 week / month)

Location: Corvallis, OR | HP campus

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Licensed Electrician with a minimum Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license to join our team. In this role, you will focus on the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems within industrial environments. The ideal candidate brings hands-on troubleshooting experience and a strong commitment to safety protocols. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects in a dynamic industrial setting, with room for growth into more advanced licensing and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electrical installations, equipment, and systems in industrial plants, ensuring compliance with Oregon electrical codes and safety standards.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, including wiring faults, motor controls, and control circuits, using diagnostic tools and testing equipment to minimize downtime.

  • Repair, replace, and upgrade electrical components such as panels, switches, conduits, and fixtures as needed for maintenance purposes.

  • Collaborate with production teams and other maintenance staff to identify potential electrical hazards and implement preventive measures.

  • Document all work performed, including troubleshooting steps, repairs, and compliance checks, maintaining accurate records for regulatory audits.

  • Adhere to all OSHA, NEC (National Electrical Code), and Oregon-specific safety regulations during all tasks.

Required

  • Licensing: Valid Oregon Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license or higher (e.g., Limited Energy Technician or Journeyman Electrician). Candidates must maintain active licensure through the Oregon Building Codes Division.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as an electrician, with a proven track record in troubleshooting electrical systems in industrial or commercial settings.

  • Education/Training: Completion of an approved apprenticeship program or equivalent (e.g., 288 hours of classroom training plus on-the-job experience).

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical theory, codes, and safety practices.

  • Ability to use tools such as multimeters, Megohmmeters, and insulated hand tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in high-pressure environments.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, and perform tasks in confined spaces.

  • Valid Oregon driver's license; ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Availability for on-call rotations and occasional overtime.

Preferred

  • Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), or automation systems.

  • Additional certifications in safety (e.g., OSHA 10/30) or first aid/CPR.

  • Familiarity with industrial plant environments, such as manufacturing or processing facilities.

  • Experience with standby Emergency/Critical Power systems, UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) and regulatory compliance associated.
