Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for sales licensing journals and eBooks across defined territory in the US region, focused on small to mid-tier academic universities to increase business. This is a sales territory with unexploited potential and plenty of room for new net business across designated accounts for an Executive with the right attitude and approach. Coaching and development will be provided by an experienced sales mentor, offering an opportunity for career development within a high-performance commercial team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Increaseand promotesales of T&F journals, digital collections and eBooks throughout assigned territory via telephone, and email activity.
  • Host and lead customer calls to assigned accounts as necessary.
  • Prepare professional and engaging exploratory and proposal presentations.
  • Identify, maintain and develop current and prospective customer accounts and actively pursue opportunities for growth and development.
  • Coordinate and collaborate marketing efforts to promoteonline sales models to current and prospective customers.
  • Keep accurate track of sales pipeline rigorously through CRM software (Salesforce.com).
  • Track and sharelead information throughout all stages of the sales process.
  • Respond to RFPs from prospective customers and generate customized quotes.
  • Successfully negotiateand close a mix of renewal and new business.
  • Proactive communication with assigned Sales Manager/ Head of Sales, collaboration with a wider sales team, and producingregular reports on sales activity and development opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of sale proposals, management reports, support sales contact/CRM database.
  • Attend library meetings and industry events, as required. Potential for International travel for annual global sales conference.
Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • 3 or more years' sales/marketing experience.
  • Prior publishing experience a plus, with an understanding of the higher education/research/library environment,
  • Strong organizational and pipeline management skills with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple prospects, projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and advanced presentation skills at all levels of business.
  • Effective account management skills and the ability to form strong relationships and partnerships both internally and externally.
  • Highly organized, professional, confident, and goal oriented.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Windows applications including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, required.
  • Previous experience with CRM software helpful.

What we're offering in return:

  • Annual base salary ranging from $70,000- $75,500 + sales bonus (25% if OTE's are met, may exceed up to 100%)

The successful candidate will be able to utilise our balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within acommutable distance of our office in Philadelphiato ensure that as a balanced worker they can make it onsite3 days per week.

Interview process:

Once you have submitted your application, we may get in touch with you for an initial screening conversation or ask you to complete a short video interview to enable us to better understand your skills, experience, and motivation. Following this, you will be invited to attend a competency-based interview, either virtually or in person. Typically, we'd then finish the interview process with a final, 2nd stage interview before extending an offer to the successful applicant.
