NDT Inspector - 2nd Shift

Dayton, OH

Noise, Vibration, and Harshness Division

Engineered Materials Group

Parker Lord's Dayton facility manufactures passive vibration mounts for commercial and military aerospace applications. We pride ourselves in differentiating from our competitors by providing high technology solutions and the highest quality products. Our core competencies include machining and rubber-to-metal bonding, and we hold multiple industry and aerospace customer certifications, including AS9100 and NADCAP.

Performs Level II nondestructive testing of machined aerospace components. Inspection methods include Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) & Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)

Essential Job Functions

  • Performs Level II Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection and/or Magnetic Particle Inspection

  • Cleans and maintains NDT equipment

  • Inspects parts per applicable customer acceptance criteria and documents results in accordance with company, customer and/or industry requirements

  • Cleans and etches parts as required

  • Performs process audits as required

  • Interfaces with customer on a limited basis (NDT issues)

  • Actively participates in LEAN projects and activities

  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures

  • Other assignments as required

Qualifications

  • Understands and demonstrates comprehension of drawings, blueprints and Manufacturing Work Instructions

  • Must be detail oriented to keep accurate records and files

  • Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems with limited information

  • Commitment to and demonstration of LORD Performance Principles

  • Able to communicate effectively with management, and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork

  • Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed

  • Must be dependable and available to work overtime when required

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook

  • Willingness to work 2nd Shift

Education

  • Prior NDT experience and level II Certification preferred

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Willingness to pursue NDT Level II Certification

Self-motivated and ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision
