Sentry Insurance, a Mutual Company, is currently seeking a Market Conduct Specialist to join our Corporate Compliance team. In this role you would lead, coordinate, and support the market conduct examination and data call processes to meet the requirements associated with regulatory demands, inquiries, and actions.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as Sentry representative on all market conduct and enterprise wide examinations and/or data calls, handling all aspects of the process. This includes but is not limited to distributing, gathering and scrubbing all requested information from business units, answering questions throughout the process from various internal and external contacts, and drafting and submitting timely and accurate company responses.
  • Coordinate with business units and legal to resolve and respond to issues or questions received by governing bodies. Notifies
  • executives on exam and data call matters, ensuring leadership is properly informed of outcomes and penalties issued. Documents findings and solutions in vendor platform system to ensure Enterprise Compliance and Ethics is reviewed during audits.
  • Review and understand applicable regulations to business practices ensuring regulatory responses and exams are timely and
  • accurate. Identifies areas of noncompliance and/or potential areas of improvement and notifies Enterprise Compliance and Ethics,
  • Legal, and impacted business area(s) to mitigate risk.
  • Analyze exam and data call metrics and compiles reports to show findings and trends (i.e. topics reviewed, costs, business
  • turnover time, etc.). Presents findings to business area management in an informative way and identify recurring issues that
  • need to be escalated and/or resolved.
  • Conduct market conduct and data call research, identifying regulators focus areas and recognizing consistent industry trends to
  • ensure business units are prepared for governing bodies requests and make process adjustments as necessary

What it Takes

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Organizational skills to coordinate, request and analyze information from numerous sources
  • Project management experience highly preferred
  • Proficient skill level in Excel and other tracking tools
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills
  • Analytical and research skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret data from specific business areas
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding around the data of each business unit
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships. Works with purposes ensuring deadlines are met. Ability to prioritize work independently using project management techniques
  • Understanding of insurance regulatory requirements and their impact on role and linking that knowledge to regulatory compliance oversite
