The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of software/firmware integration test solutions and configuration management for medical device systems, with a primary focus on fully functional contrast injector builds. This role is critical in supporting the development and formal design verification of system software and features. The engineer will collaborate closely with design, software, and test teams to debug issues, implement fixes, and ensure consistency and traceability across the hardware fleet. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain integration test solutions for software/firmware on medical device hardware, ensuring test coverage for both development and formal design verification.
- Build, configure, and maintain a fleet of fully functional contrast injector systems for use in software development, feature integration, and verification testing.
- Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware teams to define integration test requirements and ensure alignment with system specifications and regulatory standards.
- Debugging & Issue Resolution:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot integration issues across hardware and software/firmware boundaries.
- Work closely with designers and developers to identify root causes, propose and validate fixes, and implement solutions across all relevant hardware units.
- Document issues, resolutions, and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
- Configuration Management:
- Manage configuration and version control of hardware, software, and firmware across the test fleet, ensuring traceability and consistency for all builds used in development and verification.
- Maintain detailed records of system configurations, updates, and modifications, supporting audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate and implement updates, patches, and fixes across all test systems in a timely and organized manner.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between engineering, test, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration and verification processes.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication regarding system status, issues, and progress to stakeholders.
- Contribute to design and test reviews, offering insights to improve integration and verification effectiveness.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering, embedded systems, or integration testing
- Experience with embedded system hardware, firmware, and software integration.
- Proficiency in developing and executing integration and verification tests for complex systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across hardware/software interfaces.
- Experience with configuration management tools and version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with medical device development processes and regulatory standards (IEC 60601, IEC 62304, ISO 13485).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for test automation.
- Experience with laboratory equipment, data acquisition, and test automation frameworks (National Instruments, LabView).
- Knowledge of risk management, traceability, and formal verification methodologies.
Compensation & Total Rewards: Estimated Starting Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $104,000.00 *Estimated Starting Salary Range is reflective of the range Bracco Medical Technologies reasonably expects to pay for the position.
