We are hiring for a part-time temporary position in Westminster, CO to assist with the P800 degradation project. The Spacecraft Engineering team is responsible for the health and safety, performance optimization, and anomaly resolution of Maxar's spacecraft constellation.The team also supports design, development, integration, testing, and operation of Maxar's next generation spacecraft.All roles involve significant collaboration with Spacecraft Engineers as well as with engineers from multiple teams across spacecraft and ground system development.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • P800 degradation support
  • Support Spacecraft Engineering in all areas of analysis, development, and documentation
  • With guidance from the Spacecraft Engineering team:
  • Develop telemetry displays for S/C operations
  • Develop spacecraft command procedures
  • Develop and enhance tools used to monitor spacecraft telemetry and to maintain S/C state of health
  • Write technical documents as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to work less than a 20 hours a week, On-Site in Westminster, CO
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with completion of 2+ years
  • Currently studying aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, math, or related discipline
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or Python

Preferred Requirements:

  • prior internship experience with Maxar
  • Experience with UNIX/LINUX operating Systems
  • Experience with Github
  • Experience with STK
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical groups
  • Experience designing, building, integrating, or operating an on-orbit spacecraft

The base pay will be from $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.

* The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $20.63 - $34.38 hourly.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
