Controller

STS Technical Services is hiring a Controller to join our client's growing manufacturing team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is an opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to lead accounting operations within a fast-paced, engineered-to-order manufacturing environment.

The Controller will manage all aspects of financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective cost management. This role is hands-on, strategic, and highly visible - perfect for an experienced leader looking to make an immediate impact.

• Support company growth initiatives as a key member of the management team
  
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership for informed decision-making
  
• Conduct cost analysis to identify trends, reduce expenses, and improve profitability
  
• Lead job costing and profitability reporting processes, ensuring accurate actual-to-estimate analysis
  
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management
  
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures that support scalability and cost control
  
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger transactions
  
• Manage and mentor accounting team members to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting
  
• Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation
  
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal controls
  
• Manage cash flow to maintain proper liquidity and operational efficiency
  
• Oversee budgeting and forecasting, monitoring performance against targets
  
• Maintain strong relationships with external partners including auditors, tax professionals, and banks
  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally within manufacturing
  
• Proven track record of leadership and financial management success
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  
• Proficiency with ERP systems, including cost accounting modules and reporting tools
