Job Description

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for efficient operations to realize the company's vision of being the preferred alternative for airline catering, delivering meaningful value to our clients.

Essential Functions

General Operations: under the general direction of the Operations Manager, oversight of all facility operations in collaboration with facility leadership.

  • Collaboration with Food Production management to deliver catering in accordance with menu specifications and flight schedules.
  • Ensure that Kitchen Departure Times (KDT) are met according to required specifications.
  • Collaboration with the Food Safety and Quality team to maintain compliance with FDA and HACCP requirements.
  • Collaboration with the Equipment Supervisor to ensure adequate packing and delivery of products to clients.
  • Communicate and implement changes in the operation as it relates to Airline and equipment changes/swaps/cancellations etc.
  • Ensure all transportation equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and in good working condition.


Labor Management:

  • Direct supervision of transportation staff and oversight to ensure adherence to all customer requirements and aircraft safety guidelines.
  • Motivate and empower personnel to meet operational output objectives. Foster a work environment that demonstrates teamwork, on and off the airfield.
  • Ensure personnel have all necessary tools and information to successfully perform work tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with the lineup of assignments; adjusting as needed to address challenges.
  • Accurately complete and submit operational logs regarding ramp safety check observation sheets/audits, boarding bills etc.
  • Coordinate flights to ensure they are accurate for meal counts and specs.
  • Assist with coverage for catering when needed (sick call coverage, OT coverage, etc).
  • Maintain productivity between catering with the side duties assigned to transportation staff: washing/cleaning trucks, truck fueling, packing ice, stripping carts, disposing trash from inbound flights, and running dishes through commercial dishwasher.
  • Assist team with catering flights including coverage for leaves and/or support for peak business periods.


Compliance: ensures compliance with all related regulations.

  • Comply with third-party security inspection and verification procedures. Act as liaison for representatives of such third-party entities as well as client representatives.
  • Ensure all staff are trained and maintain compliant behaviors with the following:

    • OSHA/HIOSH safe practices
    • FDA and HACCP requirements
    • Sanitation guidelines and safe practices
    • TSA and airport security
    • Flying Food Group (FFG) policies and procedures
    • Customer requirements




Skills and Qualifications

Three years of food industry experience with strong preference for previous airline catering experience or general catering for a high-volume food establishment. High School Diploma or equivalent. Class C non-CDL Hawaii Driver License with excellent driving record. Strong working knowledge of HACCP requirements, cleaning and sanitation. Proven skillset in leadership and communication with experience leading and coordinating teams. This role also requires the ability to operate office equipment and proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook and Excel.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional Manufacturing office environment. This role routinely uses office equipment and works in varying temperatures including hot, humid outdoor environments, and air controlled cold environments.

While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and nonverbally. This role frequently is required to stand and traverse for long periods; engage in manual dexterity to move objects including reaching overhead. This role will lift/carry/transport some heavy materials with or without mechanical assistance.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with variable days and shifts to support operations.
