Staffmark is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to support the quality department at a leading facility in Portland, IN. If you have a background in quality control, manufacturing, or inspection-and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment-this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Pay: $22-$24/hour

Shift: 12-hour day shift on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule (includes every other weekend)

Responsibilities:



  • Conduct incoming inspections on raw materials (e.g., cartons, caps, colorants, resins).
  • Maintain accurate product history files and documentation.
  • Create and verify Certificates of Compliance (C of C) and Certificates of Analysis (C of A).
  • Generate production labels, shop packets, and packaging instructions.
  • Assemble and maintain sample boards and totes.
  • Support sorting and rework of held products as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Assist with plant Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Calibrate quality assurance equipment as required.
  • Participate in internal audits and management reviews.
  • Support UN Testing and related training activities.
  • Manage inventory status for QA purposes, including placing product on/off hold.
  • Actively participate in Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) programs, including SQF, HACCP, and internal audits.



Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or Associate's degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing or quality assurance.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong skills in data entry, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
  • Comfortable interpreting blueprints and using measurement tools.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with data collection systems.
  • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to train.
  • Must be willing to work a 12-hour shift on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
