Job Description As Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing, reporting to the Director, Strategic Sourcing, you will lead a high-impact team responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across key commodities, driving measurable improvements in cost, quality, delivery, and business continuity. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Business Units to align supply chain strategies with enterprise goals. In this role, you'll also coach and develop talent, manage strategic supplier relationships, and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives that shape Rockwell Automation's global sourcing toolkit and supply base. This is a critical leadership position with enterprise-wide visibility and the opportunity to influence Rockwell's long-term supply chain design. This is a hybrid position that can be based out of our Milwaukee, WI or Mayfield Heights, OH locations.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies on assigned commodities with your team of commodity managers. You will also directly manage a few business-critical commodities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members (Global Sourcing team, Engineering, Operations, Business Units, Quality, etc.) in executing strategies.
- Improve quality, delivery, and cost to meet Strategic Sourcing targets and initiatives.
- Stay informed about design, product, and market requirements from Business Units and, in turn, share market and supplier developments.
- Track and implement action plans with external partners and internal teams to improve Strategic Sourcing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as well as support manufacturing locations regionally and globally.
- Conduct regular business reviews with strategic and critical suppliers.
- Source new and potential suppliers to support business requirements.
- Identify strategic sourcing best practices and drive these best practices into the Rockwell strategic sourcing toolkit and sourcing strategies.
- Manage CI special projects that will have Enterprise-wide impact.
- Develop your team to build functional and leadership capabilities.
- Facilitate information sharing to global commodity team and other internal teams to enhance collaboration and adoption of best-practices.
- Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws.
- Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation information network.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- The ability to travel 20% of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Advanced degree in engineering, operations management, supply chain management or relevant technical field.
- 8+ years relevant experience.
- 3+ years of people management experience.
- Experience with strategic sourcing methodologies, tools, and best practices, such as market research, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, risk management, category management, and supplier relationship management.
- Experience with Engineering, New Product introduction, Manufacturing, Production Material Planning, Procurement or logistics.
- Background in a technology or industrial space with hardware products.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- International supplier management experience in Mexico/Asia/Europe.
