Our AFNCR contract at Andrews Air Force Base, MD is seeking an experienced Network Engineer.

* Monitor data or infrastructure system networks for various messages, alarms, or issues.
* Identify issues or problems and resolves as appropriate; escalates when necessary.
* Troubleshoot problems using scripts and standard, routine procedures; escalates as appropriate.
* Initiate resolution as appropriate for enterprise level routers and switches.
* Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
* Process Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI's) as directed by management.
* Maintain required security posture on all network equipment in accordance with DoD and local command mandates and requirements, including updates, STIGs, IOS upgrades, and other basic network security requirements.
* Support special projects and day-to-day operations as needed or assigned by the site lead
* Support on-call rotation schedule

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8+ years of related experience, additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Expert knowledge with LAN switching, including Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), VLAN Trunk Protocol (VTP), Port Security, Spanning Tree, and Layer 2 and 3 switching configurations.
• Expert knowledge with Layer 3 routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, etc.) and best practices on implementation.
• Expert knowledge with with L1/L2 network troubleshooting (Unclassified and Classified.
• Expert knowledge of DoD network and application security hardening requirements.
• Experienced with programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting encryption devices at network points of presence including management via GEM-X or other DoD management tools.
• Experienced with DoD COMSEC management processes and procedures.
• Currently possess an Active DoD Secret security clearance
• Holds an active CompTIA Security +CE or CCNP Security certification
• Holds a CCNA Certification
