Accounts Receivable Specialist

Staffmark is hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a growing medical company in Lafayette, LA. This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated and supportive team focused on delivering exceptional care and improving the healthcare experience for patients and families.

Pay:

$17.00/hour

Schedule:

Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Post daily deposits, zero remits, and insurance denials into the billing system
• Make both remote and in-person deposits with banking institutions
• Interpret insurance policies and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
• Communicate with insurance carriers, patients/families, and internal staff
• Handle outbound calls to patients and insurance companies
• Perform clerical duties including faxing, emailing, and recordkeeping
• Report any issues or concerns to the Revenue Cycle Manager or Supervisor
• Assist with additional billing projects and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing/accounts receivable
• Strong understanding of EOBs and accounting payment ledgers
• Knowledge of medical insurance processes and payment policies
• DME (Durable Medical Equipment) experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
