What You Will Do:
- Manages the purchasing for all materials, supplies, and equipment in support of corporate purchasing operations and goals. Ensures purchasing activities reflect diverse requirements and overall business goals, as well as complies with all regulatory standards.
- Manages end-to-end purchasing strategies and processes that capitalize on savings and risk mitigation opportunities for the business.
- Builds strong supplier relationships and encourages a high level of supplier collaboration and delivery. Solves complex matters of supplier performance.
- Work closely with sales and operations to assure that the day to day business needs are being met.
- Assume responsibility for the inventory planning tools that determine the optimal inventory levels that meet both service level and working capital expectations
- Contributes to and implements overall purchasing strategy that provides foundation for supplier negotiations.
- Mitigates risk and promotes compliance by establishing and maintaining valued relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors.
- Communicates regularly with purchasing team and business partners.
- Advises and consults with internal business partners on sourcing processes and procedures.
- Actively supports annual operating planning.
- Presents purchasing issues and proposed solutions to leadership
- Coaches and mentors one or two levels of direct reports; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports
- Maintains confidentiality of all matters
- Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Four-year college or university degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of related Supply Chain/Procurement experience required
- 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing environment
- Experience in oil and gas industry preferred
- 3-5 years of managerial experience
- Project Management skills required (PMP certification desirable)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Working knowledge of Oracle ERP System preferred but not required
- Must have exceptional organizational, oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Superior analytical skills, change agent
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of ISO Quality Management System and Lean Manufacturing philosophy
- Must be able to effectively communicate with personnel of all levels in the organization
- Foster a culture of learning and improvement
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present, persuade, and collaborate at the leadership level.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business or related field
- Certified Professional Purchasing Manager or similar certification
- 5-7 years of managerial experience managing Buyers/Commodity Managers
- Experience with machine shop or fabrication shop
- Advanced Excel skills
