Job Description:

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Digital Communications Intern to join our Communications Department based in Grand Prairie, TX.

In this role, you will support the Communications team in the U.S. and Canada with a variety of tasks: social media content production, especially video and reels; graphic design work, and tradeshow logistics. The primary focus of this role will be the development and production of engaging, high-quality content across our corporate social media channels, ensuring alignment with the Airbus Helicopters brand and communication strategy. In addition, the position will support the organizational logistics of external events such as trade shows. The intern will also perform occasional administrative support as well as other projects and duties as assigned.

Our Communications team members provide effective communications to support a variety of Airbus programs through strategic internal, external, social media and crisis communications. Our team is fluent in all areas of digital communications, media and public relations.We leverage available channels and tools, as well as creating new ones. We partner with business units throughout Airbus to position the company as a brand of choice for external customers and employees alike. Join the Communications team and help tell the Airbus story.

Your Working Environment:

A suburb just outside the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area is home to Airbus Helicopters U.S. regional headquarters, where we have more than 1,000 employees. Check out one of the seven professional sports teams that also call Dallas home - you may even see a special, custom Airbus helicopter dedicated to the Dallas Cowboys flying during home games.

Your Challenges:

Primary responsibilities:

Social Media Content Creation 50%

  • Content Production: Generate various types of content, including text posts, images, videos, and graphics, that align with the brand's voice and departmental goals. Conceive, plan, shoot, and edit original video content, reels, and short-form media specifically for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

  • Storytelling: Identify compelling stories within the company-from engineering breakthroughs to employee features-and translate them into engaging social-first narratives.

  • Creative Support: Assist with live event coverage (e.g., trade shows videos) for social channels.

  • Trend Monitoring: Stay informed about the latest social media trends, platform features, and best practices to keep content fresh and relevant

Exhibition and Tradeshow Logistics Support: 25%

  • Support our Tradeshow and Exhibitions Manager in the planning of events. Tasks will vary with a focus on logistics support as well as other projects and duties as assigned.

Graphic Design Support: 25%

  • Graphic design as required to support ongoing campaigns, both digital and print (eg, flyers, posters, digital posters, infographics)

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support the teams with ordering promotional and other items as needed

  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Boarding Pass:

Required:

  • Must be currently local to the DFW metro as this is an onsite, long-term internship opportunity

  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Marketing, or Business Administration from an accredited college/university

  • Some office work environment exposure; must be well organized and have good time management skills

  • Authorized to Work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship/work authorization

  • Must be a team player capable of managing multiple simultaneous tasks with potentially overlapping deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Initiative, energy and the willingness to learn are essential to being successful in this position

  • Excellent U.S. English Written and Oral communication skills

  • Knowledge of Google Suite Applications and Microsoft Applications

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite or remote: 100%

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings daily.

  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms daily

  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily.

  • Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment daily.

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily

  • Lifting: able to lift documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily

  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment rarely

  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer daily

  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving rarely

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor daily

  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice rarely

  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces daily

  • PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visit, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
