Job Details:
The Mercer Medicine Clinic in Macon, Georgia is searching for an LPN.

Responsibilities:

This position requires the ability to multi-task by triaging multiple patients, to include, obtaining vitals, updating patient information and providing patient education, completing referrals (outgoing/incoming), prescription refills, obtaining authorizations, procedure assistance, completing forms, and manning multiple phone calls. This position does require independent assessment skills for patient needs. This position will work closely with the physician and consult the physician as needed tor patient care. This position is to provide support for MD to assist in his follow up to completing forms, returning calls, and other task and areas of follow up.

Qualifications:

This position requires a current Georgia Practical Nursing license and some clinical experience involving direct patient care. Phlebotomy experience is also required. CPR certification must be earned in the first 6 months. Candidates must possess caring, compassionate qualities with good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Medical office experience preferred, but not required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to apply standard nursing techniques to a wide variety of patient care situations.
  • General knowledge of primary care patients and baseline knowledge concerning the cardiac, pulmonology and endocrine disease processes.
  • Experience in the utilization of an electronic medical Record for office patients (ex: eMD's, Athena, etc.)
  • Experience with pharmaceutical prior authorizations and point of care testing
  • Ability to perform blood draws and administer injections
  • Ability to perform Basic Life Support and CPR to respond to a patient in cardio/pulmonary arrest
  • Ability to perform basic computer skills and knowledge and ability to complete medical charting to include ICD and CPT coding.
