Meet the Team
The IOT mechanical team is comprised of engineers that are responsible for the mechanical and thermal design of all IOT product. This includes switches, routers, and wireless access points. The team crafts ruggedized hardware to withstand extreme environments for products deployed into many industrial verticals such as mining, automotive, marine, etc. The Common Hardware Group (CHG) delivers the silicon, optics, and hardware platforms for Cisco's core Switching, Routing, and Wireless products. We develop the networking hardware for Enterprises and Service Providers of various sizes, the Public Sector, and Non-Profit Organizations across the world. Cisco Silicon One (#CiscoSiliconOne) is the only unifying silicon architecture in the market that enables customers to deploy the best-of-breed silicon from Top of Rack (TOR) switches all the way through web scale data centers and across service providers, enterprise networks, and data centers with a fully unified routing and switching portfolio.
Your Impact
In this position you would be in charge of mechanical/thermal design of IOT hardware. This would include:
*Enclosure mechanical design and system level thermal design
*System level mechanical validation (Shock, Vibration, Ingress Protection, etc.)
*Apply mechanical CAD tools for system level mechanical design
*Use thermal simulation tools for system level thermal design
Minimum Qualifications
*Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with 1+ years of experience
*Experience with CAD tools such as (Creo, NX, Solidworks)
*Experience with thermal simulation tools (Flotherm)
*Previous lab testing experience
Preferred Qualifications
*Experience with die casting design
*Experience with ingress protection design
*Experience with design of ruggedized equipment
*Experience with 3D printing engineering
