Description

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide.

Summary:We're seeking a Logistics Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role manages transportation for Sales, Transfer, and Purchase orders-selecting carriers, coordinating multi-stop shipments, and ensuring timely delivery. The ideal candidate will proactively track orders, resolve delivery risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders.

Responsibilities include routing tenders, monitoring KPIs (on-time performance, tender acceptance, routing guide compliance), reviewing freight costs, and supporting special projects. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, quick problem-solving, and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.

Order workflow from Shipper to Receiver:

  • Manages and secures transportation for Sales, Transfer and Purchase orders, including carrier, mode, and multi-stops.
  • Routes tender to carrier defined by routing guide(s).
  • Ensures coverage of all loads ahead of relevant milestones.
  • Monitors emails daily with ability to sort and respond in a timely manner.
  • Ability to react, re-prioritize and provide alternatives/solutions to transportation issues quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tracks and Traces Orders against relevant milestones.
    • Identifies any risks to successful delivery.
    • Offers solutions or recommendations to all known risks.
    • Keeps all relevant stakeholders informed with status updates.
    • Special projects (i.e., tramper loads, high volume customer, etc.)
  • Follows up with carriers to provide required information (e.g., actual arrival and departure times, POD's etc.).
  • Reviews accessorial charge requests for approval or denial.
  • Processes documents and information through established systems.
  • Monitors load completion for timely payment to carrier.
  • Reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and the price margins between carriers to determine best way to move freight.
  • Develops relationships as a trusted advisor at all levels of the organization.

Monitors status (and recommend steps for improvement) of KPIs including:

  • On-time performance.
  • Tender acceptance.
  • Routing guide compliance.
  • Spend vs Benchmark within the TMS

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a hourly pay rate range of $27 to $36 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs):

  • 2 or more years of relevant or equivalent experience with transportation across all modes, HOS regulations, equipment constraints, etc.
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong computer data entry skills.
  • Proven time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be flexible and adaptive to constant changes and be able to work in a high stress environment.
  • Proven problem-solving ability; comfortable analyzing large data sets and presenting recommendations.
  • Ability to read and interpret general industry documentation.

Preferred education and experience:

  • BluJay/E2Open TMS experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle demanding needs from internal and external customers.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others without direct authority.
  • Proven time management and multi-tasking skills.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

Physical/Mental demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequently required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will occasionally stand, walk, and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision for frequent use of a computer.
