Job Description
Westat is seeking Field Room Clerks to support a national study. This role involves various administrative tasks, including managing hire packets, handling incoming mail, and processing forms, all while ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The position is to work 5 days per week on-site at our office location in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and requires individuals who are dependable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
Job Responsibilities:
* Prepare and mail out over 2,500 hire packets for field staff.
* Open incoming mail and distribute accordingly.
* Receipt hire forms in the system.
* Follow up on missing and incomplete hire forms.
* Answer phone calls and transfer calls to appropriate extensions.
* File documents.
* Review electronic timesheets.
* Process electronic expense forms.
* Mail out FBI clearance letters.
* Mail out evaluations at the end of the project.
* Perform data entry and quality control with web-based data management system.
Basic Qualifications:
* Experience with Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel.
* US Citizenship is required by contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior work experience in a field room environment or similar.
* Prior customer service experience.
* High school diploma/GED.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must have excellent attendance at the on-site work location in Gaithersburg, MD.
* Ability to work within a team setting, be a team player, and adapt to changing conditions.
* Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to in-house and field staff, both verbally and in writing.
* Maintain a safe and secure working environment.
* Displays professional demeanor and is responsive to technical and procedural feedback.
* Comfortable speaking on the phone.
