Pay: $27 - $31 per hour

Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Job Summary

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial dock and building equipment safely and efficiently. This hands-on role requires mechanical aptitude, strong communication, and the ability to follow through on maintenance programs while supporting facility operations.

Key Responsibilities



  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on docks, levelers, seals, bumpers, commercial doors (automatic, overhead, hollow metal), locks, and door hardware.
  • Conduct shift rounds to identify and document equipment performance, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain records and update work orders in the CMMS; recommend updates to preventive maintenance programs.
  • Assist and provide guidance to subcontractors when required.
  • Perform basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks as needed.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts safely.
  • Follow all OSHA and safety regulations, including lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and facility staff to ensure the timely completion of work requests.



Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical training preferred.
  • 1+ year experience maintaining commercial dock levelers, doors, and door hardware, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with door manufacturers such as Rite Hite, Power Ramp, Nabco, Stanley Access Technology, Record USA, Tormax, Besam, Allegion, and Assa Abloy preferred.
  • AAADM certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to read diagrams, manuals, and follow written/oral instructions.
  • Basic computer skills for email, CMMS, and work order systems.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varying indoor/outdoor conditions.


Physical & Work Environment



  • Regular standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, and climbing stairs/ladders.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, high noise, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Required safety equipment: steel-toe shoes, hard hat, eye protection, and hearing protection.
