What to Expect
The Education Program Coordinator is a vital member of the training team at Tesla's Gigafactory, dedicated to supporting and shaping Tesla culture. This role focuses on coordinating education programs, engaging with diverse talent, and fostering growth through the Manufacturing Development Program (MDP) and START Program apprenticeships. A successful candidate will be approachable, outgoing, and embody Tesla's mission in every interaction while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program success.
What You'll Do
- Conduct regular check-ins with MDP and START apprentices to monitor progress and address individual needs
- Communicate the details and benefits of education programs effectively to maintenance and production leadership
- Deliver training sessions and facilitate presentations for apprentices and internal stakeholders
- Utilize Microsoft programs to track and monitor apprentice progress and standardize key metrics for program improvements
- Build and strengthen relationships with external partners, including Truckee Meadows Community College, Western Nevada College, and community agencies
- Collaborate cross-functionally with recruitment and internal Tesla departments to ensure the success of education programs
- Adapt to working C/D shifts to provide consistent support to MDP apprentices
What You'll Bring
- 1+ years of Production experience with 1-2 years of training role (preferred)
- Understanding of production process, mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including solid interpersonal and presentation skills
- Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Demonstrates personal leadership and accountability
- Understanding in adult learning principles, instructional design or education
Essential Physical Demands:
- Standing/walking on the production floor for up to 12 hours
- Ability to traverse three flights of stairs multiple times a day, as required
- Able to carry up to 10 pounds (Physical copies of Manufacturing Instructions, loaner laptops for training use and company laptop to conduct daily tasks while on the production floor)
- Ability to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time
- Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach
- Potential exposure to confined spaces and hazardous materials
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to; safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
- Must have command of the English language both written and verbal
