We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Environmental Technician with our Ingleside Plant located in Gregory, Texas. Essential Job Duties:
Support the management of the Solid Waste Program, including knowledge of State/Federal regulations and permits, process waste knowledge, and hazardous/non-hazardous waste determinations. Support the management of and oversee solid waste disposal including coordination with waste generators, disposal facilities and transporters. Support the management of waste profiles, including annual update with landfills, incinerators and recyclers. Support the management of all waste sampling and analysis to generate new waste profiles and support annual updates. Support the management of and track waste manifests. Serve as primary waste manifest signer and maintain required training. Compile data for annual waste summary reporting. Develop and present training related to solid waste management. Conduct and document weekly inspections on container storage areas and hazardous waste satellite areas. Support the management of used oil recycling and drum recycling programs. Coordinate dewatering activities in the plant with the assistance of affected area process supervisors. Support the management of the hydroblast pad. Participate in all agency inspections and assist in subsequent responses/action items as necessary. Maintain environmental records per corporate and legal requirements. Complete SPCC inspections monthly and track deficiency corrections. Support the management of LDAR contractor and coordinate leak repairs, MOCs, and tagging. Coordinate quarterly LDAR monitoring events in Markham. Work closely with operations and maintenance personnel to schedule leak repairs and insure accurate documentation. Obtain certification and complete periodic visual emissions inspections to comply with Title V requirements. Support annual RATA testing, periodic stack testing, and monthly CEMs audits. Track emergency engine operating hours and communicate with operations to prevent exceeding operating limits. Track Ethylene onsite sewage treatment plant compliance. Complete periodic Benzene Waste NESHAP sampling and documentation. Compline and evaluate daily and monthly emissions data to develop records for agency inspections. Utilize the Pi and other electronic software to improve environmental tracking systems. Maintain the WERCS database and new chemical approvals to insure SARA regulatory compliance. Maintain MSS tracking spreadsheet.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or G.E.D required. Some college education and/or 2 years of relevant work experience in Waste Management, Wastewater and LDAR is preferred. Must be able to respond to off hour emergencies. Must be able to read, write and speak in English. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team. Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis. Physical requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
