Description

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring products meet quality standards through testing, inspection, and collaboration with production teams. The Quality Control Technician makes recommendations to improve processes and conducts root cause analysis to determine appropriate corrective actions for quality issues.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Schedule and conduct routine quality control inspections and tests on products and materials during the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with quality standards including pulling samples for inspection by Operations leadership and assisting in diagnosing board quality issues such as delamination and warp.
  2. Analyze quality data and recommend corrective actions to Operations leadership.
  3. Document findings and maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, quality control processes, and complaints through the internal Quality System.
  4. Maintain a strong quality focus and actively participate in the resolution of customer complaints including inspection of returned products, processing of all customer returns and reworks, and root cause analysis reporting on findings to Operations leadership to help minimize customer and/or internal complaints.
  5. Understand and support operations processes by working side-by-side with production associates and assist with troubleshooting quality-related issues on the production floor.
  6. Assist in maintaining all internal ISO-9001 documents including the upkeep of ISO SOPs as required.
  7. Assist in implementing the company Health and Safety program to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions.
  8. Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
  9. Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAA.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities



SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS



    • High School Diploma required, an associate degree or certification in quality control or a related field preferred
    • 0-2 years of manufacturing quality experience required
    • Previous experience in corrugated packaging preferred
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess processes and identify areas for improvement
    • Able and willing to spend equal time in the plant with machine operators, maintenance personnel, and vendors; able to communicate production and process effectively.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Must have attention to detail and focused concentration.
    • Must be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflow.
    • Must be able to complete tasks that require a particular speed or productivity quota.
    • Must be able to adhere to process protocol and must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to:





    • The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
    • The employee is regularly required to stand for a prolonged period as well as bending and stooping regularly
    • The job duties will require the employee to utilize repetitive fine manipulation with hands
    • The employee is frequently required to talk or hear
    • The employee is required to reach with hands and arms
    • The employee must regularly push/pull/lift 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally more with assistance
    • Specific vision abilities for this job include close vision, distance vision and depth vision
    • The employee is to wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, hard hat, leather steel toe boots, etc.
