Position Title: VP Compliance Position Summary: The Head of Compliance is a senior leader responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the institution's compliance management framework to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role is both strategy and hands-on, setting the vision for a culture of compliance while also engaging directly in policy drafting, issue resolution, and compliance testing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy- Develops and maintains oversight of a comprehensive compliance management framework that supports sustainable, systemic compliance across all business functions. -Oversees the intake, tracking, investigation, and resolution of regulatory complaints. -Leads the review and approval process for all marketing and advertising materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws (e.g., Truth in Savings, Truth in Lending, Electronic Fund Transfer Act, UDAAP). -Designs and executes a robust compliance monitoring and testing program that evaluates the effectiveness of controls across all business lines. -Coordinates with Enterprise Risk Management, Legal, and Internal Audit to build out plan and ensure coverage and avoid duplication of efforts. Regulatory Engagement-Serves as the primary point of contact for regulators on compliance matters. -Leveraging enterprise tools and resources, maintaining a compliance risk register and heat map of high-risk areas. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: *Deep knowledge of credit union and/or banking regulations (e.g., Texas Finance Code, CFPB, FFIEC, state regulators). *Strategic & Tactical: Able to set vision while rolling up sleeves to execute.
