Your Role on the Team

Under the general supervision of Dr. Ramirez, this individual will carry out research activities, including literature reviews; data entry, cleaning and coding; basic analysis; writing and interpretation to support injury and violence prevention reseach studies; and analysis of policies and laws related to injury and violence prevention.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required
  • Experience conducting literature review, systematic reviews using databases (specifically, pubmed) and covidence
  • Data analysis skills preferred (quantitative and/or qualitative). Required coursework and/or experience with STATA and Arc GIS.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to relate easily and effectively with people within and outside the University, including both strong written and verbal communications.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Skill to use a personal computer and computer software programs at the level of sophistication required for general office work. Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with the Internet and how to conduct searches
  • Proficient writing skills to prepare/compose/review a variety of communications, primarily electronic.

Preferred

  • Fluent in Spanish preferred (oral, written).
Experience
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience Previous experience in social & behavioral research, environmental health, and/or health promotion program preferred. Required
Education
  • Master's degree in Environmental or Occupational Health (cor current graduate student). Required
