The Opportunity Responsible for supporting the development and execution of pricing strategies that align with the Firm's financial goals and client service objectives. The Legal Pricing Analyst assists in analyzing financial data, preparing pricing models, and providing insights to help inform decision-making.
- Analyzes documents and data, interprets results, and provides pricing support to the Firm's partners, senior management, and clients to facilitate effective decision-making.
- Develops pricing models and evaluates pricing scenarios to satisfy client requirements.
- Prepares cost estimates for the Firm's legal services across all practice areas, including litigation, regulatory, and transactional work, for both prospective and existing matters.
- Drafts fee-related language in response to requests for proposals (RFPs) and suggests competitive fee structures.
- Measures and evaluates performance of individual matters and portfolios of work against billing arrangements using established metrics.
- Analyzes historical matter data and prepares custom categorizations of legal services to satisfy client and matter-specific requirements.
- Compiles and analyzes data and historical statistics relating to utilization and realization, recommends necessary pricing to sell services profitably.
- Monitors market trends and competitors' pricing strategies to maintain awareness of industry standards and recommends adjustments to the Firm's pricing models.
- Engages attorneys in substantive dialogue regarding the legal work to be priced through demonstrated knowledge of the Firm's practice areas.
- Performs ongoing maintenance of related database.
- Works cross-functionally, joining data from various sources, interpreting findings and summarizing within the context of legal services provided.
- Monitors and analyzes performance of individual matters and portfolios of business against established budgets, revenue and realization.
- Responsible for leveraging precedent and historical data to problem solve and supports effective decision making with a solutions oriented approach.
- Provides relevant knowledge and support to others to increase understanding of pricing and client accounting processes.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
- Manages Firm resources responsibly.
- Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of full MS Suite and relational databases, with the ability to learn new software and operating systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills to synthesize, interpret, and summarize quantitative and qualitative data in a clear and concise manner.
- Solutions-oriented critical thinker with the ability to leverage historical data, market trends, and precedent to support effective decision-making and drive continuous process improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to collaborate with attorneys, management, and clients, and to present findings and recommendations effectively.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion, exercise independent and sound judgment, and inspire confidence in others.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-constituent environment.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of three years of experience in financial analysis, pricing, or a related role, preferably within a professional services or legal environment
