Job Title: Strategic Account Manager

Position Overview

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with key clients in the forklift industry. This role involves developing and executing strategies to drive customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth. The SAM will serve as the primary point of contact for high-value accounts, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with strategic clients. Understand their business needs, challenges, and goals to provide tailored solutions and services.

* Develop and implement account strategies to drive growth and profitability. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional products and services.

* Achieve sales targets and revenue goals by leveraging deep knowledge of the forklift industry, product offerings, and market trends. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.

* Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insights and recommendations to improve their operations and achieve their objectives. Address and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.

* Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments. Utilize this information to anticipate client needs and adjust strategies accordingly.

* Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and service departments, to ensure a seamless experience for clients. Coordinate with product development and engineering teams to address specific client requirements.

* Track and report on account performance metrics, including sales, revenue, and customer satisfaction. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and recommendations.

* Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for both parties. Manage the contract lifecycle, from initial discussions to final execution.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

* Strong understanding of the forklift industry and market dynamics.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with senior-level clients.

* Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in account management or sales, preferably in the forklift or heavy equipment industry. Proven track record of managing high-value accounts and achieving sales targets.

Physical Requirements

* Sitting and Standing: Ability to sit for extended periods to perform desk work and administrative tasks. Some positions may require standing or moving around the office intermittently.

* Computer Use: Proficiency in using computers and office equipment, which involves typing, using a mouse, and viewing a computer screen for extended periods.

* Manual Dexterity: Ability to use hands and fingers to handle documents, operate office equipment (such as printers and photocopiers), and perform tasks that require precise movements.

* Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally may need to lift or carry light objects such as files, office supplies, or packages. The specific weight limits can vary.

* Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills are often essential, including the ability to converse with coworkers and clients, and to operate telephones and other communication devices.

* Mobility: Depending on the office layout, may need to move around the office to attend meetings, retrieve documents, or assist others.

* Vision and Hearing: Good vision and hearing capabilities to perform tasks such as reading documents, communicating with others, and using office equipment effectively.
