Job Summary

We're looking for a Technical Authority Materials & Process Engineer to join our team in Fort Worth, Texas. You'll help develop advanced metal additive manufacturing (AM) technologies, especially Laser Wire Directed Energy Deposition (DED), for aerospace parts manufacturing. You'll work closely with other engineers to improve processes, automate systems, and introduce new technologies into production.

Job Responsibilities

  • Improve metal AM processes by exploring new ways to automate and control systems.
  • Work with teams focused on machining, testing, heat treatment, and operations to make AM more efficient.
  • Research and upgrade robotic, laser welding, and sensor tools to improve material deposition.
  • Set up systems to collect and monitor data during the AM process.
  • Help qualify AM materials and parts for aerospace use.
  • Support efforts to move new technologies from development into production.
  • Share knowledge and updates with global teams and partners.
  • Make sure technical solutions meet customer, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Solve technical problems and help create solutions.
  • Prepare and present technical data for internal and customer meetings.
  • Work independently and support teammates through peer reviews.
  • Identify and manage risks in your work.

Job Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Metallurgy, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degrees.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in materials engineering or additive manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD and engineering software tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with metallic materials used in additive manufacturing.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to comply with export control regulations and ITAR requirements.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDE) for metals.
  • Background in developing new products.
  • Familiarity with aerospace materials, especially titanium alloys.
  • Understanding of machining, heat treatment, and inspection processes.
  • Ability to review and write technical documents.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Experience working with databases.
  • Skills in analyzing data and using statistics.
  • Ability to understand and apply customer requirements.
  • Experience managing budgets and resources.
  • Worked successfully in cross-functional teams.
  • GKN Experience.
