JOB PURPOSE
The Production Control Clerk coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within and between departments to meet the facility production schedule.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
- Ensure production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectation
- Create Work Break Down Schedule (WBS) from drawing packages and indentured part tree, create travelers, execute buy work orders, develop/modify additional documentation required for build
- Schedule production task execution
- Estimate how long a project will take to complete
- Develops a production schedule detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by to meet estimated completion date
- Troubleshoots problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions
- Monitor material availability prior to execution
- Manage the actual production effort from work order creation, material delivery/shortages, assembly/integration, QA, test and transfer to shipping/warehouse
- Monitors project's progress to ensure it's following the schedule
- Analyze and prepare documents needed for production
- Read and analyze drawings and provide guidance to assemblers as required
- Work with Engineering to determine disposition of non-conforming material and getting it replaced / repaired
- Follow-up as required with all functional areas to expedite flow of materials
- Attend meetings with customers and Project Managers to provide status
- Propose lists of required materials, tools, and equipment
- Prepare reports about production processes for upper management and suggest ways to improve efficiency
- Must be able to effectively multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic production environment
- Ability to prioritize projects dynamically to streamline production tasks
- Expedites and alters schedules to prevent projects from missing deadlines due to unforeseen circumstances
- Provides plan sequence of fabrication, assemblies, installations and other manufacturing operations for execution of production integration
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Required:
- 4 year post secondary education, or equivalent experience.
- High School diploma minimum or GED Required
- Must be able to travel as required
- This position requires an existing U.S. Government granted personnel security clearance at the Secret level. U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred:
- Strong computer skills in order to use and understand schematics of hardware and electronic drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), electronic/electrical inter connect drawings/wiring lists, and technical manuals
- Minimum 3 years' experience with MRP or ERP software package with focus on production planning
- 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Must have experience with ISO documentation and processes
- Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
- Must have strong leadership skills
- Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with management, fellow employees, peers, and customers in positive and constructive manner
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Project etc.)
