JOB PURPOSE

The Hazardous Waste/Material Handler will be responsible for the safe handling, transportation, and disposal of hazardous ma, ensuring compliance with environmental re and safety standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY


  • Identify hazardous materials and sort them for proper handling and disposal.
  • Maintain accurate records of hazardous materials handled, including disposal methods and quantities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of hazardous waste storage areas and ensure proper maintenance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to protect public health and environment
  • Safely package hazardous waste and transport it to designated disposal facility ensuring compliance with local state and federal requirements.
  • Work with environmental for audits and inspections
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required:


  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Job Located at U.S. Government Facility
  • This position requires a U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the final Secret level. Individual must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance/eligibility for employment
  • High School; Associates or Higher.


Preferred:


  • Certification in hazardous materials handling or related safety training is a plus
  • Proven experience in waste management particularly with hazardous materials
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, excellent attention to detail , and the ability to operate heavy machinery is essential.
