JOB PURPOSE
Support to ensure all outgoing orders are shipped. Must ensure all shipments are completed by the required time frames, documentation is present prior to shipment and all parts are packaged to protect against damage.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
- Record shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability.
- Prepare monthly shipping and cost volume reports.
- Excellent customer service, professional attitude and appearance are a must.
- Keeps the management informed of issues, problems, or potential problems as resolution is sought.
- Maintains files on open request in and organized manner, and tracks all shipment related documents.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment - i.e. hand-truck & pallet-jack while adhering to all company and OSHA policies and regulations.
- Maintains outgoing logs for shipments to ensure all products are delivered to our customers in flawless condition.
- Maintains all processes and records involved in shipping/receiving.
- Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to customer shipping area for transportation.
- Determines method of shipment.
- Provides highly accurate and controlled shipment tracking to program managers, external customers and the government.
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons.
- Selects the appropriate wooden or cardboard container to pack shipments.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Prepare all DD-1149 documents necessary for shipping including small packet assemblies for the finished product.
- Use forklift truck to move shipments from shipping and receiving to storage or shipping areas.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
- High School
- This position requires a U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the final Secret level. Individual must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance/eligibility for employment
Preferred:
- In lieu of formal education, 1-2 years of related experience with Shipping and Receiving
- Required:
- Forklift license

- Working knowledge & application of domestic and international shipping carriers, customs, duties and shipping regulations as well as internal tools used (e.g., scanning equipment, internal database tracking system, dollies and carts.

- An active DOD clearance and a CAC card.
