As our Deputy Manufacturing Operations Manager, you'll help lead the daily operations that bring these ideas to life. You'll collaborate with talented teams, optimize fabrication processes, and make sure our manufacturing operations run safely, efficiently, and with purpose.

Purpose of the role

You will be responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Operations Manager in leading and optimizing fabrication activities that drive our sustainability-focused projects. Acting as second-in-command, you'll ensure smooth execution of production plans, consistent application of Worley's procedures, and unwavering commitment to safety and quality. This role bridges leadership, production, and project management - keeping operations aligned, people supported, and results delivered.

Core Responsibilities

Operational Leadership and Support

  • Support the Manufacturing Operations Manager in overseeing all aspects of fabrication operations.
  • Lead the day-to-day execution of production activities, ensuring work meets schedule, specification, and company standards.
  • Step in to lead operations during the Manager's absence, maintaining leadership continuity and effective decision-making.

Project Management and Process Alignment

  • Support implementation of project plans, schedules, and deliverables in accordance with Worley's frameworks.
  • Coordinate task tracking, milestone reporting, and risk management to achieve timely, cost-effective outcomes.
  • Keep manufacturing operations aligned with overall project goals and provide progress updates to leadership.

Production Oversight and Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor production performance using data-driven metrics such as:
    • Labor productivity and resource utilization
    • Material usage and waste reduction
    • Throughput, efficiency, and bottleneck identification
    • Safety performance and trends
  • Support regular reporting and performance reviews to drive improvement and accountability.

Team Coordination and Workforce Support

  • Help supervise production teams, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Assist in workforce planning and coordination between shifts for consistent operations.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.

Inventory, Logistics, and Material Management

  • Partner with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely material availability.
  • Monitor inventory and help resolve supply issues that could affect production flow.

Quality, Safety, and Process Compliance

  • Champion compliance with HSE, quality, and operational procedures across all fabrication activities.
  • Support audits, inspections, and corrective actions to maintain compliance and promote continuous improvement.
  • Help refine standard operating procedures to incorporate lessons learned and best practices.

Field Coordination and Interface Management

  • Collaborate closely with the Site Integration and Installation Manager to align manufacturing outputs with field needs.
  • Participate in coordination meetings to share progress updates, discuss challenges, and recommend solutions.

Continuous Improvement and Sustainability

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and improved efficiency.
  • Support integration of sustainable manufacturing practices into daily operations.
  • Contribute to advancing Worley's mission through operational excellence and innovation.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • Strong background in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production environments.
  • Experience supporting or leading teams in an operations or deputy capacity.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, material management, and production planning.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and safety systems.
  • Experience tracking operational performance using data and metrics.
  • Working knowledge of project management tools and principles.
  • Clear, confident communicator who can engage effectively with shop-floor teams and senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
