This position is responsible for leading the repair and maintenance of production machines and equipment. This position ensures that departmental requirements are fulfilled, including safety compliance, adherence to internal procedures, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Principal Maintenance Mechanic also drives continuous improvement initiatives to help achieve strategic initiatives for the maintenance department. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and overseeregular maintenance and repairs on CNC machines, including multi-axis mills, Swiss turn lathes, EDM machines, and other CNC equipment. Lead and overseeregular maintenance and repairs on injection molding machines, autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, electrochemical finishing equipment, etc. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize machine downtime and increase machine reliability. Develop and maintain documentation related to CNC machine maintenance, repair, and performance (manuals and troubleshooting guides) Works with minimal oversight from supervisor.Mentor and guidejunior technicians and 3rd party vendors. Train and mentor junior maintenance staff on production machine maintenance and repair techniques. Stay at the forefront of advancementsin CNC machine technology anddrive recommendationsfor process improvements and equipment upgrades. Coordinate and manage3rd Party Vendor labor and production equipment moves in collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor. Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) guidanceto Manufacturing Engineering to ensure efficient and effective equipment operations. Lead initiativeswith the EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) Coordinator to identify and implement solutions to safety hazards associated with production equipment. Ensure and enforcecompliance of all CNC machines with safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct and leadspot audits for safety compliance. Utilize and optimizesoftware, including an electronic Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), email, and the internet to track & cross-reference PM requirements, communicate, order supplies, and gain access to manuals, procedures, or specifications. Serve as the primary system administratorfor CMMS, ensuring its effective use and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
7 - 10 years of experience with CNC, lasers, marking, welding, packaging, machine tool repair or other related technology.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for up to eight hours per day, ability to move about, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
