Group Sales Zoo Worker

Hourly Pay Range: $14.69 - $16.30

Job Summary: The Group Sales Zoo Worker assists with the general upkeep and operations of Group Sales, Zoological Society, and Special Event areas at the Zoological Gardens. This seasonal role performs assigned duties to ensure a pleasurable experience for all Zoo visitors and contracted events.



Essential Responsibilities:



  • Assist Zoo visitors, handle visitor complaints, ensure visitor satisfaction, and provide information and directions to visitors.
  • Support Group Sales events to ensure all contracted and coordinated services are executed before, after, and during the events. Events include corporate, non-profit facility rentals, picnics, birthday parties, and motorcoach/group tours.
  • Interface with Zoo visitors to educate them on exhibit content. Direct visitor contact.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.



Minimum Requirements:



  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Possession of a valid United States Driver's License, able to obtain a Wisconsin Driver's License within six (6) months of start date.
  • At least 16 years of age or older at the time of application.
  • Able to lift/carry and push/pull up to 100 lbs.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Less than one (1) year of Customer Service or Event Management experience.



NOTE: This original application is open to permanent residents of the United States. Appointee must establish residency in the state of Wisconsin within six months of start date and maintain such residency during incumbency. In accordance with Section 11, Rule 3 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of criteria deemed appropriate by the Director of Human Resources.
