Job Description

USESI, is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Staff Accountant to join our team.



Key Responsibilities:


Lease Accounting



  • Day-to-day lease accounting for 150+ real estate locations in compliance with ASC842, including journal entries and review and processing of lease specific invoices
  • Review new and modified lease agreements, alongside our Real Estate Department, to determine accounting treatment in accordance with ASC842
  • Assist with ongoing maintenance and accuracy of the Company's lease accounting software platform (Visual Lease)
  • Assist with external audit requests related to lease accounting


Fixed Assets & Capital Projects



  • Record fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
  • Track capital improvement projects, including partnering with operations and project management teams to monitor and capitalize projects timely
  • Review invoices & supporting documentation for compliance with capitalization policy
  • Assist in process improvements and automation of fixed asset reporting


General Accounting



  • Support month-end close and financial reporting responsibilities
  • Prepare account reconciliations and variance analyses for assigned areas.
  • Assist with GAAP audits
  • Continuously work to improve processes within areas of responsibility


Skill & Qualifications:



  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field required
  • 2-4 years of public or private accounting experience, CPA or CPA track a plus
  • Advanced excel knowledge is essential
  • Strong accounting knowledge (GAAP) and analytical skills
  • Capability to work and communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and hit deadlines
