Description

The FFT Therapist role provides community based intensive counseling services to youth and their families utilizing the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Model.

Essential Job Duties



  • Manage a caseload effectively and within FFT Model fidelity and requirements,
  • Create and maintain HIPAA compliant FFT clinical files,
  • Complete required FFT assessments and notes and record in required database(s) timely, Participation in individual and team staff meetings and trainings,
  • Meet all FFT training and competency requirements,
  • Ensure timely submission of expense reports to include personal expenses and rental mileage log, Effectively implement AMIkids Way (Kids First, Safety, and Family) and key elements of Positive Youth Development (Relationships, Meaningful Participation, Community Involvement, and Challenged & Engaged Programming) and the AMIkids Personal Growth Model (PGM) in all interactions with students,
  • Actively ensure all interactions reflect Kids First, Safety, Family, Relationships, Meaningful Participation, Challenge and Engaged environment and Community Involvement,
  • Interactions with youth shall maintain an environment that provides a physically/emotionally safe space for youth and effective learning, growth, and progress toward individualized goals,
  • Model supportive, consistent, respectful behavior with all parties to ensure an atmosphere that fosters healthy relationships, trust, and mutual respect; set clear boundaries and provide observations and reflection to youth,
  • Schedule home visits in a cost-effective manner and submit weekly itinerary to designated supervisor and communicate changes,
  • Adhere to AMIkids safety and in-home visit safety procedures,
  • Develop and maintain working partnerships with internal and external parties, actively participate in networking events,
  • Meet documentation requirements on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, Maintain professional boundaries,
  • Provide 24/7 phone support for youth and/or families experiencing a crisis,
  • Attend and maintain appropriate crisis intervention/de-escalation training and certification as defined by state and contract requirements,
  • Attend and maintain CPR and First Aid certification by nationally recognized organization, Travel 25-50% of time,
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as


Minimum Education, Training and Experience



  • Master's Degree required in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or related Human
  • Services field,
  • Meet professional standards, licensure/certification, and/or contract requirements, Ability to appropriately handle crisis situations,
  • Flexibility in hours to meet family's availability; including early mornings, late evenings, and/or
