SUMMARY OF POSITION: An Area Manager - Client Advisory should demonstrate commitment to delivering distinctive service. This position will be responsible for overall leadership of the Firm's activities in the assigned geographic area to ensure safety and soundness. This position is accountable for the development of associates, operations, profitability and growth of the area of responsibility, client retention, and achievement of service standards. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide distinctive service to clients and prospects, in person and over the telephone. Respond to client inquiries and satisfactorily resolve client issues. Support firm-wide achievement of the three-ring standard (all phones answered by a live person within three rings).
- Achieve and maintain a working environment conducive to the development and motivation of qualified, productive, cross-functional associates with a 95% retention rate.
- Develop and maintain personal knowledge of market to ensure delivery of effective advice.
- Helps develop and implement the overall business strategy of the firm, its culture and mission statement within the geographic area of responsibility.
- Works closely with the President/CEO and other officers of the firm to help assure achievement of the business strategy and plan for the firm.
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of new associates for their area of responsibility and other areas of the firm.
- Identify client needs and recommend other partners within the Firm.
- Provide leadership and support for all lines of business.
- Meet all the client's financial needs, both business and personal, and refer clients to other specialty areas such as Trust, Investments, Insurance, Treasury Management, etc. as appropriate.
- Assist other team members as needed to ensure delivery of distinctive service.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
DESCRIPTION OF EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING:
- College degree is required - finance or business-related.
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in financial services with a minimum of 10 years' progressively responsible professional/managerial experience.
- Extensive management/team leader experience required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or related software.
- Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations and compliance.
- Broad knowledge of bank products and services.
DESCRIPTION OF CAPABILITIES, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid leadership and interpersonal skills with in-depth knowledge of all regulations as it relates to banking processes, technology, security, privacy, and human resource management. Ability to motivate, train and monitor performance of associates within area of responsibility.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks.
- Excellent client service skills. Tact and diplomacy in dealing with both clients and associates.
- The physical activities of this job include but are not limited to the ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time, use of manual dexterity, verbal communication, visual acuity, repetitive motion, and the ability to hear. Often long periods of mental concentration are required. Other activities are the ability to bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, lift, and grasp.
