Summary

Spire is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to play a supporting role in standardizing built-in quality practices and procedures across critical Enterprise applications. This role will be primarily responsible with applying functional application knowledge within development teams to provide quality solutions to both internal and external customers.


Duties and Responsibilities

* Play role in production ticket triaging as escalations occur, including prioritization and working alongside Product Management and/or Product Owner to drive resolution of problems

* Conduct data analysis and troubleshooting as needed, utilizing technical and functional knowledge base to decipher path to resolution

* Support procedures and strategies for Quality Assurance activities based on best practices

* Partner with Product Management to understand existing population of test documentation and identify gaps to build comprehensive test scripts for key end to end functionality (both manual and automated)

* Fully embedded in development teams, participates in all ceremonies and planning, focused on acceptance criteria that is clear, precise, and testable

* Partner with developers to configure, update, and adjust front-end applications as required

* Maintain health of manual regression scripts as new functionality enhancements are developed and released

* Support execution of Test Driven Development (TDD)

* Identify opportunities to develop new test automation workflows

* Collaborate and maintain alignment with automation team and Product Management

* Support testing cycle timelines and scope based on planned work within Program Increments, as well as larger scale initiatives within roadmap

* Primary tester of functionality for new development and break/fix to support story acceptance by Product Owner

* Build knowledge of focused value streams to guide Product Management on quality of testing, and what is still needed to gain user acceptance


Essential Characteristics

* Base understanding of software development life cycles

* Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust across the ART

* Ability to work across multiple teams to build collaboration and trust


Supervisory Responsibilities

* No direct supervision


Required Education (certifications, licenses)

* Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience


* SAFe certification(s) a plus


Required knowledge, skill and abilities

* 1-3 years' experience working in Quality Assurance/Business Analyst role

* Experience working in large scale complex end to end integrated environments

* Related work experience playing an active role in technology delivery and business analysis

* Knowledge and experience within enterprise applications, functionality, and end to end processes, preferred but not required, in specialized application support stream (i.e Customer Facing or Internal Core Apps)

* Experience in PL/SQL preferred


* Base understanding in SQA methodologies and practices

* Solid understanding in testing tools, such as QA complete or Jenkins, or other industry wide software's


Physical demands, environment and schedule

* Hybrid Remote/Office environment

* Work performed primarily during business hours, with off-hours support required at times

* Some Travel may be required as ITS and teams are disparate across locations (primarily St. Louis and Birmingham)
